Dear ccNSO Councillors, This is a follow-up regarding the email below, about the selection of the ccNSO appointed delegate to the FY2021 ICANN Nominating Committee. As mentioned previously, the Councillors eligible to vote are expected to review the applications and select members based on how well the candidates meet the set of requirements. The current version of the applicable guideline does not provide guidance in some areas, however mentions the following: […] 4. Omission in or unreasonable impact of Guidelines In the event the guidelines do not provide guidance and/or the impact is unreasonable the Chair of the Council will decide. […] The ccNSO Council Chair decided that current NomCom Members, including if appointed by other SO/ACs or groups, are not excluded from the current selection round. However, excluded from this selection round is Biyi Oladipo, Council member from the African region. Biyi is excluded by definition, since he is one of the candidates that applied to become ccNSO appointed delegate to the NomCom. Thank you. An email will be sent on 10 June 2020 (by 23:59 UTC) to the individual email addresses of the members of the ccNSO Council eligible to vote, with in attachment the application material as submitted by the 3 candidates.
