Dear all, Please note that during ICANN66 in Montreal the Empowered Community Admnistration expects to run a public Approval Action Community Forum regarding the Board approved change to a fundamental Bylaw, Article 18, Section 18.7(b) relating to the composition of the IANA Naming Functions Review (ICANN Board resolution 2019.09.08.05: https://www.icann.org/resources/board-material/resolutions-2019-09-08-en#1.e [icann.org] This Fundamental Bylaw change was requested by the ccNSO and looks at the composition of future IANA Function Review Teams. Dear All, On Wednesday, 2 October 2019, 23.59 UTC, the recent call for nominations for the position of ICANN Board seat 11 was closed. In accordance with the applicable rules, the following candidates were nominated, seconded and have accepted their nomination: Calvin Browne Nigel Phair Patricio Poblete The candidates are listed in alphabetical order. All 3 candidates accepted their nomination, and due diligence verifications will be starting shortly. An election will be held - starting in January 2020, after completion of the due diligence verifications - according to the timeline previously agreed upon by the ccNSO Council. The ccNSO Council and ccNSO members have agreed that the ccNSO members shall propose and elect candidates for the two ICANN Board seats allocated to the ccNSO, and that the winner of said election - i.e. the candidate that receives the majority of the votes cast - shall in turn be nominated to the ICANN Board seat by a majority vote of the ccNSO Council. A Q&A session will be held at the upcoming ccNSO Members Meeting at ICANN66 in Montréal, Canada. This Q&A session will provide the ccNSO members and broader ccTLD community an opportunity to interact with the candidates. Session chair is Byron Holland (.ca), Vice Chair to the ccNSO Council. Hello all, Between Wednesday, 9 October 2019 (00:01 UTC) and Wednesday, 23 October 2019 (noon UTC) it is possible to apply for ccNSO travel funding to attend the ICANN67 ICANN Community Forum, taking place 7-12 March 2020 in Cancún, Mexico. No early/late submissions will be accepted. What are the requirements for applicants? The applicant actively participates in the work of the ccNSO and makes a special contribution to its projects and meetings. Examples of contributions to the work of the ccNSO: an active engagement in a ccNSO working group, a presentation at the ccNSO member meeting, or other engagements that strengthen the activities of the ccNSO. Important: Applications which do not clearly state an active contribution, are not eligible and will not be taken into consideration. What is included? The funding covers an economy class ticket to the travel destination, the hotel costs for the time of the meeting and a per diem (either full funding, or partial funding). ccNSO Travel Fund Guideline: https://ccnso.icann.org/en/about/guidelines.htm How to apply? The ccTLD World list is a ccNSO mailing list, created to facilitate the exchange of information and general discussion on the IANA naming functions and related issues, including related reviews, accountability mechanisms and procedures. It is an un-moderated forum, and robust discussion is encouraged. A light-touch administration policy is enforced. Who is eligible to be subscribed to the ccTLD World mailing list?
