Goodbye

Dear all, This is my last official day with ICANN. I got the chance to say goodbye to many of you in Dublin and I am grateful for that. I am also very grateful for your kind words to me and beautiful gifts. I have had such a great time during the past 6 years serving the ccTLD community, I have learned a lot and I have made friends. Being around so many dedicated people is inspiring. As many of you know by now I will go back to my roots as a social worker and pursue a career in the field if psychotherapy. I will think back fondly of my time with the cc community. I hope to see you again in the future. Council Volunteer ccNSO Trvavel Funding committee

Dear all, As you will know Dotty stepped down from Council at the closure of this Dublin ICANN meeting. As you will also know Dotty is serving on the Travel Funding Committee. In order to avoid a vacancy, in particular in view of the upcoming round of travel funding, Council would need to appoint another Councillor as soon as possible. To make this feasible we kindly request Councillors to put their name forward for this function, preferably by 30 October 2015, either by sending me an email directly or to the list. If there will be more one candidate, Council will be requested to appoint the member through the process that was used for the selection and appointment of the ccNSO representative on the NomCom. The role of the travel funding committee, in particular the role of the committee itself, is described in the travel funding guideline, which can be found at: http://ccnso.icann.org/about/travel-funding. Currently, the other members of the Travel Funding Committee are: Celia (NomCom appointee, and living in NA) and Katrina (EU Region). According to travel funding guideline, members of the travel funding committee should preferably from different Geographic Regions. Kind regards, Bart

Dear Colleagues, For your information I have attached a deck from this morning's CCWG meeting, slide 6 of which represents the proposed timeline going forward. I have, however, summarized this below. You will note that this calls for SO/AC approval of the final report between Jan. 7 and Jan. 22, 2016. While the timeline references this January period as being for 'SO/AC Intersessionals', this should not necessarily be presumed to be a large F2F meeting. It was noted in the room that ICANN has indicated that it would facilitate meetings of SO/AC's but that these need not held at the same time, nor that they need to be F2F. Registry Stakeholder group generally keen to see another round soon. - New gTLD auction proceeds – Discussion revolves more on process (how should the work develop) and less on substance on ‘how the funds should be spent. It’s felt a cross community working group might be the result, however some in GNSO suggest a GNSO working group would represent the community better. - Geo-TLD interest group are increasingly formalising their process with discussion on membership and fees. - GNSO formally state their support to the work of the CCWG Accountability. - There were two candidates for GNSO council chair were James Bladel and Heather Forrest, however due to insufficient votes to cross a threshold, the election did not pass and nominations will recommence at a later stage.
