Gabi == Topic: WHOIS Expert Group Request for input on questions to Initial Report on Draft Next Generation gTLD Directory Services Model Originator: ICANN/WHOIS Expert Group Summary of request: The Expert Working Group on gTLD Directory Services (EWG) has proposed a new system in which gTLD registration data is collected, validated and disclosed for permissible purposes only, with some data elements being accessible only to authenticated requestors that are then held accountable for appropriate use. Dear fellow councilors, We have received an application for ccNSO membership from .rw, the ccTLD of Rwanda. The application has been filed by Mrs. CLAUDINE SUGIRA, representing the cc's manager RWANDA INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATION (RICTA). As you can see from IANA's response below, there are no outstanding issues with .rw. Having our meeting on the African continent and celebrating the ccNSO's 10th anniversary, wouldn't it be nice to approve this application coming Wednesday and have our esteemed and beloved departing chair, as one of her final acts in that role, welcome .rw as member #137? Please let me know if you have any objections to .rw's membership or this procedure before Wednesday noon.
