Timeline * Deadline for comments by Council is Thursday, 5 September – end of day * Unless there are comments or concerns by Council, the guideline will be sent to the ccNSO members for their review. Dear Councillors, The call for one (1) volunteer to serve on the 2025 ICANN Nominating Committee (NomCom) on behalf of the ccNSO closed. Councillors eligible to vote are now expected to select the NomCom delegate. Here is the list of applicants, in alphabetical order. I have included the number and type of background materials each of them submitted. Call for Presentation Proposals: ICANN81 ccTLD News Session

Dear ccTLD Community Members, We are pleased to announce the call for presentation proposals for the upcoming ccTLD News Session, scheduled to take place during the ICANN81 Annual General Meeting, held 9-14 November in Istanbul, Türkiye. This session aims to provide updates, share insights, and facilitate discussions on topics relevant to country code top-level domains (ccTLDs) and their operations. The ccTLD News Sessions have been a part of the ccNSO Members Meetings for several years and have provided a global platform for both experienced and new people to meet, share experiences and discuss ccTLD-related aspects. PRESENTATION TOPICS | This is a session for and by ccTLDS. We invite proposals for presentations on the following topics (but not limited to): * Case studies showcasing ccTLD initiatives * ccTLD collaboration and partnerships * Recent developments and updates within the ccTLD community * Policy or legislative initiatives impacting ccTLD operations * Practices in registry management, marketing, and community engagement The session will allow for both in-person and virtual participation. Simultaneous interpretation will be available for selected ccNSO sessions during the upcoming ICANN Public Meeting, including the ccTLD News Session. Participants will be able to select the language they wish to speak or listen to in Zoom. Languages available will be Arabic, English, French or Spanish. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES | Presentation proposals should include a title, abstract (few sentences), and the name, ccTLD affiliation and contact details of the presenter. SUBMISSION DEADLINE | Please submit your presentation proposals no later than 27 September 2024 (23:59 UTC) via https://forms.gle/JAYGApb2gMoEDH3a8 SELECTION PROCESS | Proposals will be reviewed by the ccNSO Meetings Programme Committee (MPC) based on overall contribution to the objectives of the ccTLD News Session, taking into consideration the limited number of speaking slots. The MPC embraces diversity, including among others in terms of experiences and regional affiliation. Following conclusion of the MPC deliberations, all applicants will be notified by 17 May 2024, COB. All presenters will receive a briefing paper outlining role, scope, etc. All session presenters will be invited to attend an informational pre-session meeting and a rehearsal session closer to the meeting. Resignation of Board Member Katrina Sataki

Dear Councillors Katrina has stepped down from Board Seat 12, effective 23 August 2024 (see attachment). Following her resignation, we are formally asked by ICANN to initiate the process to fill the vacancy of Board Seat 12 (see attachment): 1. For the remainder of Katrina’s term until the 2024 AGM (November 2024) 2. For the 3-year term starting at ICANN’s AGM in November 2024 up and until the AGM in 2027. To start this process, the secretariat will, as usual, put together a timeline. This timeline will follow the requirements of section 10.3 (i) of the Bylaws, the internal Rules of the ccNSO and the applicable Guideline ( https://ccnso.icann.org/workinggroups/ccnso-nominations-icann-board-guideli…) . Once the timeline has been put together, you’ll be asked to comment and then approve the timeline and appoint Joke as the Nomination Process Manager. Later today I will also be sending a note to the members, informing that Katrina has stepped down, and that the Council will be launching a Board seat 12 nomination process, once it has agreed on the timeline and appointment of the Nomination Process Manager.
