ccNSO Council Nominations Results

Dear all, The nominations to the ccNSO Council closed last Friday, 2nd October 2009. The nomination report is available at: http://ccnso.icann.org/about/elections/election-report-08oct09-en.pdf As there were no more nominees than available positions, no elections will need to be held. All the nominees have accepted their appointments, therefore the new appointees are: African Region: Paulos Nyirenda, .mw Asia/Australia/Pacific Region: Chris Disspain, .au European Region: Lesley Cowley, .uk Latin American/Caribbean Region: Rolando Toledo, .pe North American Region: Keith Drazek, .us A big thank you to Oscar Robles, .mx who decided to step down after having served on the Council since its very beginning in 2004. Welcome to Rolando Toledo, .pe who is taking his seat for the Latin American/Caribbean region. A thank you also to Oscar Moreno, .pr, who served on the Council for the North American Region since 2007 and welcome back to Keith Drazek, .us, who left the Council last year, but is now returning. The new Council will take its seat at the end of the ccNSO Council Meeting in Nairobi on the 10th March 2010. Kind regards, Gabi

Organisational Review reports published for public comments

Dear all, Three Organisational Review reports have just been published for public comments: * The NomCom review WG draft report (public comment box at http://www.icann.org/en/public-comment/#nomcom-review-2009) - the report presents the draft conclusions of the WG and asks for specific inputs on the key issue of the size and composition of the Committee. Public comments sent during the first two weeks of the consultation will be particularly appreciated because the WG expects to progress significantly in Seoul towards the finalisation of the report. * The Board review WG draft final report (public comment box at http://www.icann.org/en/public-comment/#board-review-2009) - the report has concluded on all issues remaining outstanding in Sydney, and will be finalised after this very last round of consultation with the community. * The SSAC review draft report (public comment box at http://www.icann.org/en/public-comment/#ssac-review-2009) - the report presents the draft conclusions of the WG, and will be finalised after public comments. Gabi, Yes, that is my decision, I will not re-stand for election to the ccNSO council this time, so I will be leaving the Council after my term finishes. There is the interest of Rolando Toledo (.pe) to be involved in the Council so I decided to support him. Dear all, ICANN has opened an online question box where community members can ask questions directly to the ICANN Board. Everyone can ask two questions or 50 words in length. The question can cover any topic related to ICANN and its work. Answers will be provided either during the public forum in Seoul or emailed and published in the weeks following the meeting.
