Dear all, The ccNSO is seeking a candidate from either the African, Asia-Pacific, European or North American region, who wishes to become a member of the Customer Standing Committee (CSC). The Customer Standing Committee (CSC) has been established to ensure the satisfactory performance of the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) naming function. All interested individuals that meet the candidate qualification requirements are welcome to apply. How to apply If you are interested, please submit by Friday, 15 July 2022 (23:59 UTC): 1. Term of Appointment In accordance with the charter of the CSC, the regular term of appointment shall be two (2) years, starting 1 October 2022. A member may be re-appointed for two additional terms (in total 3 terms). The CSC is responsible for monitoring Public Technical Identifier's (PTI) performance of the IANA naming function against the service level expectations in the IANA Naming Function Contract. The CSC analyzes performance reports provided by PTI and publishes its findings. The CSC is authorized to undertake remedial action to address poor performance of the IANA naming function, and if performance issues are not remedied, may escalate the issues to the ccNSO and GNSO. Heads up: Call for Nominations for one Director to the ICANN Board (Seat 11) starting soon

Dear ccNSO members, This is a heads-up, about the upcoming call for nominations to fill ICANN Board Seat 11. The term of Patricio Poblete, the ccNSO nominated Director fulfilling ICANN Board Seat 11, will expire at the ICANN78 Annual General Meeting held in October 2023. By October 2023, Patricio will have served 1 term on the Board: he is eligible for reappointment. Directors to the ICANN Board may serve maximum three consecutive terms. The ccNSO Council is required to select a candidate in accordance with the relevant ICANN Bylaws and internal rules of the ccNSO applicable at the time of the call for nominations. To meet the ICANN Bylaws requirement of appointing a Director by 26 April 2023, the ccNSO Council will open a call for nominations to fill ICANN Board Seat number 11, starting Tuesday, 19 July 2022 (00:01 UTC) and closing 3 weeks later, on Tuesday, 5 August 2022 (23:59 UTC). Elections will be held in November 2022, after completion of due diligence verifications by a professional firm on the nominee(s). A virtual Q&A session with the candidate(s) will be held in the end October/start November timeframe, post ICANN75. The ICANN Bylaws specify the requirements for suitably qualified candidates, including details regarding citizenship or domicile [Section 7.2(c)<https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/governance/bylaws-en/#article7>]. Requirements regarding employment by a ccTLD are included in the applicable ccNSO Guideline<https://ccnso.icann.org/sites/default/files/field-attached/ccnso-nomination…>. Katrina Sataki, occupying Board Seat 12, has her domicile in Latvia, EU-region. Therefore, the Board Seat 11 Director cannot have her/his domicile in the EU-region. Candidates are not required to be employed by a ccTLD in order to be able to be nominated, but if there is an employment or other relationship, that should be disclosed by the candidate as part of their Candidate Statement.
