17 March 2022 Appointment ccNSO Council Chair and Vice-Chairs Dear John, At its meeting on 10 March 2022 and ion accordance with the temporary election procedure adopted on 24 February 2022, the ccNSO Council appointed Alejandra Reynoso (.gt) as Jordan Carter (.nz) and Adebiyi Oladipo (.ng) as Vice-Chairs. Dear all, As indicated in yesterday’s email on ICANN’s public comment forum on the second version of the Terms of Reference for the pilot Holistic Pilot has opened (https://www.icann.org/en/public-comment/proceeding/pilot-holistic-review-re…) As next step you are asked to decide whether to initiate the ccNSO Council Statement process ( see section 3 and 4 in https://ccnso.icann.org/sites/default/files/filefield_47783/guidelines-stat… ). Under the assumption you have no objection, I want to suggest that the drafting team of statement on first ToR, will again prepare the draft. Members were: Tatiana, Irina, Alejandra, Chris, Jordan, Pablo Sean and Stephen. Decision – The ccNSO Council initiates the ccNSO Council Statement as provided in the relevant Guideline (https://ccnso.icann.org/sites/default/files/filefield_47783/guidelines-stat…) to provide input on the second draft Terms of Reference for the pilot Holistic Review. Closing date of comment period is 27 November 2023. Reminder: call for nominations ccNSO Council closes 3 October

Dear All, This is a reminder regarding the call for nominations to fill five seats on the ccNSO Council. The nomination and secondment procedure closes Tuesday, 3 October 2023 (23:59 UTC). To date, we received nominations and secondings for at least one candidate for each of the 5 regions. Consult the archive here: https://mm.icann.org/pipermail/ccnso-nominations/2023-September/date.html WHO CAN NOMINATE/SECOND? | According to the latest ccNSO Council Election Guideline, only the ccNSO Representative of a ccTLD Manager is eligible to nominate/second candidates for the ccNSO Council. Contact joke.braeken(a)icann.org<mailto:joke.braeken@icann.org>, in case you have questions regarding who is listed as the Representative for your ccTLD. For the current round of Council nominations, the Council leadership has recommended the following: In the case of an incoming nomination or seconding from a non-representative, the Election Manager will send a copy of the nomination or seconding to the attention of the ccTLD representative, requesting explicit confirmation of the validity of the nomination or seconding. NEXT STEPS | The Election Manager will ask the candidates whether they accept their nominations. The deadline for confirming nominations is Wednesday, 11 October 2023 (23:59 UTC). Candidates are required to provide a written candidate statement. A Question and Answer session with the candidate(s) will be held on Thursday, 26 October 2023, during ICANN78. In preparation of the Q&A session, the written candidate statements will be posted on the ccNSO website. The Q&A session gives the ccNSO members and broader ccTLD community an opportunity to interact with the candidates. If at the close of nominations there are no more valid candidates in a particular geographic region than there are seats on the ccNSO Council available for that geographic region, then the nominated candidates shall be selected to serve on the ccNSO Council. Otherwise, an election shall be held for that geographic region, to select the ccNSO Councillors from among the valid candidates. The first election round (if any), will start Thursday, 9 November 2023 (00:01 UTC) and will close Thursday, 30 November 2023 (23:59 UTC), as per the timeline adopted by the Council.
