Dear All, This is to inform you about the results of the Q3 and Q4 survey by the ccNSO Internet Governance Liaison Committee (IGLC). As you may recall, the IGLC aims to create a repository of events, programmes or initiatives in the Internet Governance area, that address ccTLD-relevant topics. About the survey The survey had two main objectives: * share information among ccNSO members, not only on upcoming meetings or events, but also on previous talks, in order to help fostering co-operation between ccTLDs who would like to share their views on one of the 8 relevant topics included in the background section below. * advertise to the broader ICANN community and other key players the important role of ccTLDs in Internet governance talks. Consult the survey results here<https://community.icann.org/download/attachments/124846506/consolidatedsurv…>. Next steps The IGLC reviewed the survey results during its January meeting. Based on the results and the upcoming discussions by the IGLC members and the consultation with the ccTLD community in Cancun, the IGLC will decide on its next steps and work items, including the possibility to re-open the survey. IGF2020 Related to the discussions of the IGLC, the IGLC Chair invited the ccNSO Secretariat to share an announcement with you regarding the IGF2020 Call for Validation of Thematic Tracks<https://www.intgovforum.org/multilingual/content/igf-2020-call-for-validati…>. All stakeholders are invited to share feedback and advice on the IGF 2020 thematic approach by Thursday, 6 February 2020, 23:59 UTC. Dear All, This is a reminder that the ccNSO seeks volunteers (members and chair) for the second Working Group of the third ccNSO Policy Development Process (ccPDP3). This group will be tasked to develop the Review Mechanism pertaining to decisions regarding the delegation, transfer, revocation and retirement of ccTLDs. Call for volunteers Opening date for this call for volunteers is Friday, 24 January 2020 (23:59 UTC). The call for volunteers will close Friday 7 February 2020 (23:59 UTC). If you are interested in applying for this position, kindly send an e-mail to joke.braeken(a)icann.org. Further instructions are included under the heading "How to apply?". Who can join? Membership of the Committee is open to all ccTLD managers (whether members of the ccNSO or not) The membership will be listed on the ccNSO website. If you are not directly related to a ccTLD Manager but are interested to become a member, you are kindly requested to demonstrate backing by a ccTLD manager. Members of the WG are expected to have an understanding of the relevant background material (see below). Workload and working method The group meets through telephone conferences (1 hour to 90 minutes - typically bi-weekly), and potentially in face-to-face meetings during the ICANN meetings. About ccPDP3 The Country Code Names Supporting Organization (ccNSO) continues the policy development process (PDP) related to the retirement of country code top-level domains (ccTLDs). This third-ever ccNSO PDP aims to develop policy recommendations for the ICANN Board, which will include a review mechanism pertaining to decision on the delegation, transfer, revocation, and retirement of ccTLDs. In March 2017, the Council decided at the time to split the work in 2 phases: * Phase 1: is about to conclude its work. This group focused on the retirement of the delegated Top Level Domains associated with alpha-2 codes assigned to countries and territories listed in the ISO 3166-1 standard. The objective of the MPC is to coordinate and manage the high-level schedule of the ccNSO-related sessions, including the ccNSO Members Meeting agenda at ICANN public meetings, and related matters. Happy New Year and happy Lunar New Year We are quorate. 1 councillor from every region, 11 councillors Next meeting exceptionally on a Friday, 14 Febr (12:00 UTC) due to conflict with RO meeting. Informational only meeting, no decisions will be taken. We will prepare for our face to face meeting in March. Apology received from Giovanni. Byron needs to leave half an hour early. 2. Minutes & Action Items All action items completed 3. Intermeeting decisions (since 19 December 2019) · Launch of ccPDP 4, request of issue report · Appointment Abdullah Cemil AKÇAM (.tr) member IGLC · Selection Peter Janssen (.eu) and Luis Diego Espinoza (associated with .na) as the two ccNSO appointed members on the RSS GWG 4. Adoption joint ccNSO and GNSO SIFR Guideline version 1 Joint consultation with GNSO. No comments received form ccNSO members. This Guideline is in a final stage, ready to be approved. Move? Update Board Seat 11 Nomination Process Concerns on members mailing list from 2 members, concerns by Stephen who were addressed. Several councillors responded they were happy to move forward. All will be noted in the final report. Stephen: election is not run in conformance with resolution. Start date is 1 day later than what we stipulated. We need to consider addressing the issue. Conformity with guideline. Chair can specify a change. Katrina expresses support to Pablo and wishes him the best. Earthquakes in Puerto Rico on a daily basis. Nick: can this council meeting amend the dates of the previous resolution? Katrina: acknowledge the fact and move forward according to new timeline, voting starting 1 day later. Bart: secretariat will circulate a resolution online tomorrow. 6. ccPDP 3 1. Part 1 Retirement – Update Call just ended at the top of the hour. Stress-testing. Interim report available by Cancun. 1.
