Dear Colleagues, I have received an email from Brian Cute regarding the further steps to ensure evolution of ICANN’s multi-stakeholder model (see below). Although the idea of assigning topics to communities that would be responsible for developing solutions was (kind of) discussed in Marrakech (and in Kobe), I am slightly surprised by the twist. This is something I would like to discuss during the Council prep meeting. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to dedicate too much time to this topic, therefore please think about it in advance. Preparation for upcoming ccNSO Council Workshop Session

Dear Colleagues, Please excuse the length of this email. In order to have a productive session in the upcoming Council workshop on "How can we become better", it is critical that you come to the workshop familiar with the material that we will be covering in the session. Attached you'll find a document, "Areas of Improvement of the ccNSO Recommendations and Suggestions". This document is a synthesis of both the recently completed ccNSO review's recommendations and suggestions, as well as Workstream 2 Accountability recommendations, which we agreed to implement independent of the Board decisions in this area. To have a successful workshop you urged to familiarize yourself with this document prior to the workshop session. The ccNSO relevant Workstream 2 recommendations, as well as Meridian Institute's recommendations and suggestions from their review, are grouped in what are called "Areas". As you will see when you review the document, some Areas are ICANN/ICANN Staff related, and some are ccNSO related. Further, the state of completeness of each Area is noted. Overall, the document is arranged per the section headings in Appendix 1 and 2 of the "Final Report: ccNSO Review Assessment & Recommendations". Recommendations and suggestions from the ccNSO Review are represented, using the same heading scheme as in the Review. Additionally, recommendations from the Work Stream 2 Final Report are identified as such as well, thus facilitating identification of overlap between the two sources. There are 21 Areas identified in the document. The primary goal of this session is to collectively review our sources for improvement. The intended work product is to identify the three Areas of highest importance. This will provide us with a critical part a roadmap as to what recommendations and suggestions Council should turn its attention to first between now and Cancun. I encourage you to read the document prior to the workshop session, and already think about how you would rank each Area in terms of importance: "High", "Medium", and "Low". I also wish to encourage you to make note of the personal criteria that you used to base your rankings, as besides discussing the Areas with respect to importance, we will also be discussing the criteria each of us used to arrive at the rankings. The format of the session will be a short overview of where we are and how we got to where we are. Each of us will then be given some time to classify each Area in terms of importance. We will then form in groups, and each group will have some time to discuss their members' ranking of Areas that they considered to be of "High Importance". We will then meet again in plenary to discuss the work of each group. From this discussion, the process will be repeated to cull the list of "High Importance" areas further, with the end goal being of identifying the three most "High Priority" areas for immediate consideration. Please come prepared, as we have a lot of material and discussion to do, and not that much time to do it in. Thank you in advance. Draft PTI and IANA FY21 Operating Plan and Budgets

Hello All, Focusing on ICANN's commitment to the multistakeholder model, the ICANN organization seeks public comment on the operating plan and budgets for delivering the IANA functions. This is comprised of two components — the Draft FY21 Public Technical Identifiers (PTI) Operating Plan and Budget and the Draft FY21 Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) Operating Plan and Budget. The PTI Operating Plan and Budget outlines the activities to deliver the core IANA functions and associated operational activities to enhance systems and processes. The IANA Operating Plan and Budget is comprised of these PTI activities, plus additional programs and costs associated with overseeing and delivering the IANA functions performed by ICANN in its role as the IANA Functions Operator that are not borne directly by PTI. Proposed Changes and new Additions to the IANA SLAs for ccTLD Creation and ccTLD Transfers

Dear All, As required by the IANA Naming Function Process for Amending the IANA Naming SLAs [newsalerts.icann.org]<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__newsalerts.icann.org_o…>, the purpose of this public comment proceeding is to obtain community input on a proposed change to one SLA and three proposed new SLAs which would define expectations of request processing timeliness for ccTLD creation and ccTLD transfers. If adopted, the changed SLA and new requirements will be added to the performance metrics as defined in the Service Level Agreements for the IANA Naming Functions Contract. The ccTLD delegation and transfer process is designed to assign or re-assign a ccTLD to a manager, taking into account a number of technical and public interest criteria. There is currently a single measurement of staff processing time for ccTLD delegation and transfer requests, representing the cumulative time the request is being processed by the IANA team for the life of a request. However, the processing time for this type of request varies greatly from several weeks to several months. the CSC and PTI determined that perhaps identifying new SLAs that measure these transactions in a totally different manner is necessary. Current Status: According to the Process for Amending the IANA Naming SLAs [newsalerts.icann.org]<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__newsalerts.icann.org_o…>, the Customer Standing Committee and PTI have agreed upon the new metrics, and now seek community consultation through this public comment process. Age Diversity and Participation Survey: results

Hello all, ICANN published its Age Diversity and Participation Survey. It contains data and analysis drawn from 380 community respondents who were surveyed between 10 March and 19 April 2019. The survey report offers insights into the community's perceptions of age diversity, potential and perceived barriers to participation, and its support for initiatives to enhance age diversity. Application open for ICANN67 Community Childcare Grants Pilot Program

The program aims to facilitate, during ICANN meetings, the in-person participation of community members with children. Grants up to USD 750.00 per family are available for ICANN Public Meeting participants who are bringing children and will incur expenses associated with babysitting and/or local childcare services.
