Behind the scenes, the team has been hard at work delivering on the project's primary goal<https://www.icann.org/resources/board-material/resolutions-2017-09-23-en#2.c> of improving the findability of our content. Registry Agreement Search Improvements Today, we're releasing the proposed new search experience for Registry Agreement content for your input via our feedback site<https://feedback.icann.org/>. We are committed to working with you to deliver a result that meets your needs. To do that, we need your input. The improved searchability includes these features: · Filters to narrow your search results by gTLD or string, agreement type, operator, or agreement status. · A date range filter. · Type ahead and search by the internationalized domain name. · Ability to download search results to a csv file with links to the individual agreement pages. · Keyword(s) search within registry agreement content with the results available by relevance (number of instances of the keyword(s)) or newest (search results ordered by publish date). We implemented these changes with helpful feedback from registry operators and staff. Because this release is in active development, some files and archive sections may be missing. Rest assured, all files and content currently on https://icann.org<https://icann.org/> will be migrated and available when the new site is officially launched. This particular content type was complicated to implement. It involved taking 48,000 pieces of unstructured files and pages and transforming the content into structured content and applying relevant metadata. Although this process took a lot of work, it gives you the ability to find your content more quickly. It also futureproofs our content for an easier migration process years from now, as new platform technologies emerge. The feedback period will be open until 30 September 2019. Upcoming Content and Features Available for Feedback The team has also completed development on many other content types that are not yet available for feedback. Content migration into a new content model takes time and our goal is to provide you with previews of these content types with real data. This will give you a truer user experience to test the improved functionality. We plan to release Board Meeting Materials for your feedback in late October 2019, before ICANN66. In addition, the team is developing an improved Public Comment feature based on invaluable input from several members of ICANN's Supporting Organizations and Advisory Committees. This new feature will be available for testing in late January 2020. As you know, this is a complex project. It involves auditing and migrating thousands of pieces of content, integrating two platforms from the ground up, and developing features to improve search and customize authoring. We remain laser-focused on sticking to our core goal - making it easier for you to find and access content. Soft Launch Plans We're aiming for a soft launch of the new site in April 2020. What do we mean by soft launch? We will release the new version of the site for your feedback in April 2020. This version will include: · Improved search and features for some content types like Board Materials, Public Comment, Announcements, Blogs, and Reviews. · 75% of all https://icann.org<https://icann.org/> files and pages migrated and searchable. The existing https://icann.org<https://icann.org/> will remain the definitive site during this period and run in parallel to the new site. This soft launch period gives us the opportunity to gather your feedback about many aspects of the improved site and make subsequent updates before we officially retire the current site. Country Code Names Supporting Organization Review Final Report Submitted

The report contains important findings on how the ccNSO fulfils its purpose, manages its structure and operations, and strives for accountability. Based upon the findings, the Meridian Institute's determination is that: * the ccNSO has a strong continuing purpose; * there does not seem to be a significant need to make structural or operational changes; and * the ccNSO is accountable to its constituencies, including its members. The report contains 14 recommendations for continuous improvements, some of which have already been acted on by the ccNSO. ccNSO appointment | Customer Standing Committee (CSC)

Dear Council, The following persons have put their names forward as candidate for the one (1) seat on the Customer Standing Committee (CSC): * Erwin Lansing, .dk * Alejandra Reynoso, .gt (Councilor) As a result the ccNSO Council will need to select one of the two candidates. According to the current guideline ccNSO Actions Respecting the Customer Standing Committee (https://ccnso.icann.org/sites/default/files/file/field-file-attach/2016-12/…) “If more candidates apply than are needed, the Councillors eligible to vote will each compile a list of their up to top 5 candidates, based on the Selection Criteria, by assigning 5 points to the most preferred candidate, 4 points to the second preferred candidate, etc.” Councillors eligible to vote If a Councilor intends to become a member of the group, then this Councillor shall not be involved in the appointment process due to a direct conflict of interest. A Councillor may also declare a conflict of interest at any stage for other reasons, for example, a Councillor and nominee may be working for the same ccTLD manager. After such a declaration of a Councillor, this Councillor shall not be involved in the appointment process anymore. As a result, and for this particular CSC selection process Alejandra Reynoso will not participate in the selection procedure. All other Councilors will receive the Expression of Interest and supporting documents, unless you indicate consider you are conflicted. List of preferred candidates The Councillors eligible to vote will each compile a list of candidates, based on the Selection Criteria (see below) with the most preferred candidate on the top and the least preferred candidate at the end of the list. If a candidate does not meet the criteria in the view of a Councillor, the Councillor should refrain from listing that candidate. Each of the voting Councillors will send her/his list of preferred candidates to the ccNSO Secretariat (email address kimberly.carlson(a)icann.org<mailto:kimberly.carlson@icann.org>), within 5 working days after receiving the list of candidates. Based on each of the individual Councillor’s rankings, the Secretariat will prepare the overall ranking of all candidates by assigning the highest number (2) to the most preferred candidate, and lowest to the least preferred and zero (0) to a candidate that is not included in the list. The highest number will be the same as the number of candidates. For example if 7 candidates apply, the candidate who is most preferred by a Councillor will be assigned 7 and the next preferred 6 , etc. The candidate(s) receiving highest total of assigned numbers, is most preferred overall candidate. The secretariat will report the ranking to the ccNSO Council one (1) business day after the day eligible Councillors could submit their list of preference. Selection Criteria CSC members will be slected based on how well they meet the following set of skills and experience: * Direct experience and knowledge of the IANA naming function * Analytical skills, ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative evidence, and draw conclusions purely based on evidence. * Experience in managing and/or participating in committees (e.g. meeting coordination, reporting, and escalation) in order to contribute meaningfully to CSC processes * Demonstrated ability in relationship management to support diplomatic discussion, consensus driven decision making, and productive negotiation * The candidates have excellent communication skills in order to represent ccTLD interests and to keep the ccNSO and broader ccTLD community informed on progress * Able to work and communicate in written and spoken English. Further a candidate: * Should commit to actively participate in the activities of the CSC on an ongoing basis * Should be employed or have active backing by a ccTLD manager and should demonstrate the support by the ccTLD manager in respect to the required time commitment to participate actively in the CSC. In addition, and in accordance with the charter of the CSC, only if a candidate is considered to meet the above criteria the following diversity criteria should be taken into account: * Geographic regions; * Gender diversity; * Type, experience and size of ccTLD manager.

Heads up: Call for Nominations for one Director to the ICANN Board Seat 11 to be launched soon

Dear All, This is to inform you that the term of Chris Disspain, the ccNSO nominated Director fulfilling ICANN Board Seat 11, will expire at the ICANN69 Annual General Meeting 2020 in Hamburg. By November 2020, Chris will have served 3 terms on the Board: therefore he is not eligible for reappointment. The ccNSO Council will open a call for nominations to fill ICANN Board Seat number 11, starting Wednesday, 11 September 2019 (00:01 UTC) and closing Wednesday, 2 October 2019 (23:59 UTC). Elections will be held in January 2020, after completion of due diligence verifications by a professional firm on the nominee(s). The ccNSO Secretariat will share more details latest on Tuesday, 10 September 2019, including information on the procedure for nominating and seconding candidates, the requirements for suitably qualified candidates, the relevant timeline and the next steps.
