By calling this an education ‘project’, we are assuming that it is a one-way street. In my experience, auDA has some important rules about who gets to lease/use a name(s) that significantly cut down on abuse - as do the registries in Europe and Canada. What about a project that talks about best practice and what works/doesn’t work. Estimados todos/as Uno de los requisitos al aceptar la candidatura, es confeccionar una breve declaración explicando el por qué personalmente creo ser un buen candidato a ocupar este lugar en representación de Nuestra Región. He aquí algunas de mis consideraciones al respecto: En todo este tiempo tanto en ámbito de la Academia como en las Organizaciones de la Sociedad Civil, he desarrollado muchísimas actividades que me valieron numerosos reconocimientos, como asimismo, el hecho de poder ocupar cargos de conducción en algunas de ellas. Quien suscribe cree firmemente estar en la capacidad de representar a la región por la cual me han nominado y he accedido a representar por condiciones que salen a la luz después de haber ocupado distintos lugares de liderazgo en la organización que soy parte (Internauta Argentina, Asociación Argentina de Usuarios de Internet), desde la cual participamos desde hace 16 años en LACRALO/ICANN, habiendo sido fundadores de la misma en Diciembre de 2006 en la Reunión de San Pablo, Brasil. Nuestra organización trabaja temas vinculados a acortamiento de la brecha digital, nombres y números de dominios, conectividad en zonas aisladas y en defensa de los intereses y derechos de los usuarios digitales de nuestro país. Estoy comprometido con un ecosistema de internet resiliente, interoperativo y estable como así también con el fortalecimiento y la profundización del sistema de participación de múltiples partes interesadas (multistakeholder) Como se desprende de lo antedicho, entre mis principios incluyen compromisos para: Proteger los derechos humanos y las libertades fundamentales de todas las personas; Promover una Internet global que promueva el libre flujo de información; Fomentar la conectividad inclusiva y asequible para que todas las personas puedan beneficiarse de la economía digital; Promover la confianza en el ecosistema digital global a partir de una internet segura, el derecho a la privacidad del datos sensibles de las personas; Proteger y fortalecer el enfoque de gobernanza de múltiples partes interesadas que mantiene el funcionamiento de Internet en beneficio de todos. Estoy convencido que junto a todas las ALS de nuestra región y en conjunto con la totalidad de las ALS involucradas en ALAC, se podrá trabajar para promover esta visión, sólo el trabajo colectivo y cooperativo es quién garantiza el cumplimiento de los objetivos globales de una organización. No hay mayor objetivo que la estabilidad del sistema de internet y la garantía de los derechos de los usuarios en pos de un ecosistema de internet que nos contenga en todo. Esto es por lo que creo ser un buen candidato para ocupar el cargo de miembro de ALAC por la Región y por lo que pido su apoyo al momento de tener que votar.
