Estimados compañeros de LACRALO: Bien sabido es que el tema "Islas Malvinas" o "Fackland Island" es muy sensible a los Argentinos y las demás ciudadanos de América Latina y Caribe, por lo que significa en materia de los derechos soberanos de los países, y de la ocupación de potencias extranjeras de los territorios de cada uno de estos. En ese marco, me he manifestado en contrario al trabajo de regiones geográficas, ya que estudiando el mismo me he dado cuenta que las Islas Malvinas tienen un tratamiento contrario a los intereses de Argentina y de la posición que han tomado todos y cada uno de los estados de nuestra región con respecto a este tema, ya que se la da Estatus de "Estado" a las Islas Malvinas, Georgias del Sur y Sandwich del Sur, diferenciandolo del Estado Nacional Argentino. Este antecedente peligroso para la región me hizo poner alerta i envie un comentario al Grupo de trabajo de Regiones Geográficas de la siguiente manera: "Solicitamos que no se considere a las Islas Malvinas, Georgias del Sur y Sandwich del Sur como territorios o estados independientes de República Argentina, según está especificado en la página 24 del Apéndice B , Report of Geographic Regions WG http://www.icann.org/en/topics/geographic-regions/geo-regions-territories-c… Page 24 El ccTLD .fk, dominio asignado a las pretendidas autoridades de las Islas Malvinas; así como el .gs a las islas Georgias del Sur y Sandwich del Sur son parte integrante del territorio nacional de la República Argentina, pero en vuestro informe son presentadas como territorios separados de la República Argentina. Asimismo, se recuerda que oportunamente la Cancillería de la República Argentina, ha enviado una nota dirigida al presidente y CEO de ICANN, solicitándole que se considere a NIC Argentina como la única autoridad delegada válida para el dominio .ar a cargo de la autorización de registros de nombres de dominio en el territorio de la República Argentina, incluyendo a las domiciliadas en Islas Malvinas, Georgias del Sur y Sandwich del Sur.
